Explore Port Stanley
Ahhhhhhh, Port Stanley. Where in the summer, life truly is a beach! But ‘Port’ has so much more to offer than a magnificent, world class beach and warm summer water. As a harbour town on the north shore of Lake Erie and falling within the Carolinian weather system, Port Stanley enjoys a more temperate climate, year ’round than towns and cities just a few kilometers away. There’s a reason we’re referred to as Canada’s ‘banana belt’ and why so many wineries have located in the immediate area.
Raining or snowing in London or St. Thomas? Then check out Port’s weather because there’s a good chance, the sun is shining here (CLICK HERE to check out our weather right now) – or better yet, CLICK HERE to see what’s happening right now on Main Beach via our live web cam!
Our unique weather pattern welcomes birders and bikers, fishermen (and women), butterfly watchers and forest walkers and Sunday drivers every day of the week to explore our village and experience the dynamic Lake Erie and its surrounding environment and unique flora and fauna.
In addition to what nature has blessed Port Stanley with, we also have shops and attractions galore (see our photo gallery of businesses), daily attractions and frequent special events, train rides and live theatre, golfing and sailing, hardware and grocery stores, medical clinic, beautiful clothing boutiques and gift stores, real estate, legal and insurance services, marinas and gas bars, all sorts of services and community facilities, and last, but certainly not least, excellent restaurants and bars. CLICK HERE to see a complete alphabetical listing of all our shops, stores, services, merchants and attractions.
Regardless of the weather or the season, Port Stanley is a wonderful place to be and one you’ll be glad to explore.
